SUBCOMMITTEE
Overview
This Subcommittee role offers a semester-long opportunity to explore different committee departments. Promotions to other roles within SAMM are possible after rotating through portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
(including, but not limited to):
- Rotate through SAMM departments such as Marketing, Communications, HR, Corporate Relations, Events, etc.
- Collaborate with subcommittee and committee members to develop and implement innovative promotion techniques for SAMM.

CORPORATE RELATIONS OFFICER
Overview
Corporate Relations Officer is responsible for building, cultivating and maintaining relationships with corporate representatives; these may include SAMM Alumni, University of Melbourne Alumni, as well as industry professionals.
Key Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Support the Director in building a bridge between external bodies and SAMM.
- Communicating with external bodies in preparation for events.
- Presenting yourself professionally to maintain relationships.
Key Selection and Desired Attributes:
- Exceptional written and communication skills.
- Professional presentation.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Passion, enthusiasm and a positive mindset towards each relationship formed.

COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER
Overview
The Communications Officer is required to facilitate information exchange between the SAMM Committee and its members and assist in developing media for the
The Uni Diaries.Key Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Support the Director of Communications in initiating content creation, approaching podcast guests, scripting, organising and hosting podcasts for The Uni Diaries.
- Support the Director of Communications in planning content, writing, editing and publishing for The Uni Diaries.
- Market the content produced through The Uni Diaries via social channels.
Key Selection and Desired Attributes:
- A passion for management, marketing and the cultural
implications of business.- A high level of creativity in relation to content creation.
- Exceptional technology skills and adaptability to using new software.

EVENTS OFFICER
Overview
The Events Officer is responsible for liasing with external bodies to organise events. It involves monitoring the implementation and progression of events to ensure they run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Support the Director in the organisation of events.
- Communicating with external bodies.
- Assist in the development of an event.
- Ensure all events run smoothly.
Key Selection and Desired Attributes:
- Exceptional written communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Is reliable and shows initiative in all work they complete.

HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER
Overview
Reporting to the Director, the Human Resources Officer is required to provide general Human Resources support and advice to achieve the mission and vision of SAMM. You will assist the Director to build strong working relationships between committee members and maintain SAMM’s supportive culture.
Key Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Assist the Director to develop, implement and evaluate human resource management policies.
- Undertake any efforts deemed appropriate or necessary to maintain SAMM’s culture.
- Support the Director in executing the end-to-end recruitment cycle (i.e. recruitment, induction, training, management, decruitment inclusive) in Semester 1, 2025.
- Collaborate with other SAMM departments wherever necessary to assist with workforce planning and demands, succession planning and performance management.

MARKETING OFFICER
Overview
The Marketing Officer is responsible for the overall brand image of SAMM and will work closely with the Director of Marketing to create branded content and solidify a strong marketing strategy across SAMM’s social media channels.
Key Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Support the Director in developing marketing campaigns to promote SAMM events.
- Execute marketing campaigns through diverse content creation, including written and visual content.
- Assist in the management of SAMM social media channels.
- Distribute promotional material across campus and to SAMM members.
Key Selection and Desired Attributes:
- Exceptional written communication skills.
- Creative and unique ideas.
- Ability to think strategically.
- Knowledge of Canva and MailChimp is preferable, but not necessary.
- Experience in graphic design is highly desirable.
